La Yeon at Shilla Seoul has once again managed to be included in the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants. The fabulous restaurant is all about fancy dishes and traditional flavours served with courtesy and dignity. The menu includes also local culinary masterpieces of time-honoured Korean dishes, each one featuring only the highest quality ingredients. Being a proud member of the giant luxury hotel chain Shilla, La Yeon has developed its own distinctive dishes, symbolising the traditional Korean cuisine and respecting local customs. Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants has rapidly turned into one of the most appreciated and respected magazines in the world since it was first launched in 2013. Every year the prestigious Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants gathers the opinions and experiences of over 300 industry experts across Asia. The voting scheme is gathering altogether Asia’s most respected chefs, restaurateurs and food critics. Since 2013, La Yeon Restaurant has offered only authentic traditional Korean being highly appreciated by guests and also by competitors. To improve their guest experience, La Yeon has introduced new courses in their menus including a range of inspired dishes that honour classic Korean flavors. Starting from ingredients and continuing to seasonings or even to the choice of charcoal used in grilling, La Yeon uses only premium Korean products.
La Yeon’s Chef Kim Sung affirms that “To be recognised by Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants for a second consecutive year is a significant honour”. He also added that “The inclusion in the list motivates our team to continue our vision of showcasing the beauty of Korean culture through La Yeon’s traditional cuisine.” Last year, under Chef Kim’s management, the La Yeon team has created a 10-course tasting menu by reviving recipes from a 500-year-old cookbook called Sooeunjapbang a very brave and hard decision which was also important for the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants.
