According to latest evaluation guided by Forbes, the second richest man in Asia with a fortune that is estimated at 21 billion $ (only 7 billion $ less than Li Ka Shing) is the casino magnate Lui Che Woo ( 呂志和博 ). Born in 1930, the 85 years old billionaire lives in Hong Kong but his main casino activity takes place in Macau where he owns the Galaxy Entertainment, the well known company who built the 2 billion $ Galaxy Macau Casino and Hotel.
Having a vast background experience in building sites and constructions, the Chinese billionaire was able to create a real empire in Macau that is visited by nearly 28,000 people daily and has six cupolas decorated with 24 karat gold, a large number of 2,260 rooms, the casino being equipped with 450 gambling tables and 1,500 slot machines. Lui Che Woo can be described as a confident man who always smiles and wears a black hat, he never thought his company’s shares were going to rise that much on the stock market. As a man born and raised during the second world war, he saw the suffering and pain of Chinese people who were struggling for survival, these things shaping his life in order to become a simple man who enjoys simple things in life such as eating noodles or even drinking a cup of tea from a street merchant.
