Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has recently announced the opening of a new luxury hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii. The project, which has a target opening date in early 2020, will have the establishment on the island of Oahu. Mandarin Oriental plans introduce its hospitality to this important tourism and business destination, Hawaii.
Mandarin Oriental Honolulu will be the anchor of Mana`olana Place, a 36-story mixed-use tower with gardens and public plazas. Being currently developed by Los Angeles-based Salem Partners, Mana`olana Place is located in the heart of the Ala Moana district. Mandarin Oriental Honolulu has the advantage of being just a short walk to Waikiki Beach and Ala Moana Beach. It will also be located adjacent to the Hawaii Convention Center and the Ala Moana Center. The hotel’s 125 guestrooms and suites will be designed to reflect the Hawaiian culture. The hotel expresses a contemporary design along with features inspired by Mandarin Oriental’s heritage.
The Group is going to manage 107 Residences at Mandarin Oriental, located on the Mana’olana tower’s upper floors. This will provide some of the most luxurious private homes on the island.
Mandarin Oriental Honolulu will feature a rooftop restaurant and bar with landscaped outdoor terraces. Guests will be able to admire views of Diamond Head, Ala Moana Beach and Downtown Honolulu. The developer designed also a lobby lounge, an all-day dining restaurant along with extensive banqueting. Meeting spaces with views over the surrounding terraces and gardens will delight every guest at Mandarin Oriental Honolulu. In keeping with the Group’s wellness concepts, a Spa at Mandarin Oriental will offer holistic rejuvenation and relaxation with eight treatment rooms. Further leisure options include a comprehensive fitness centre and an outdoor swimming pool.
James Riley, Group Chief Executive of Mandarin Oriental affirms that “We are delighted with this opportunity and look forward to bringing Mandarin Oriental’s legendary hospitality back to Hawaii,”. He also added “This new development will be a welcome addition to the brand’s expansion around the world.”
