First opened in 1973 the historical Zoo in Singapore is also known under the local name of Mandai Zoo and covers and impressive surface of 28 hectares of land. Attracted by the natural and modern way of presenting the animals in their wild habitat favored by open space or glass shields , Singapore ZOO gathers nearly 1,6 million visitors annually.
With a strategic location that neighbours two other large reservations called Jurong Bird Park and Night Safari , the zoo is considered to be Asia’s most beautiful natural park for wild animals and threatened species being also the winner of multiple international awards.
Steve Irwin also known as the “ Crocodile Hunter “ declared that Singapore Zoo is the sister of Australia Zoo , being impressed by the highly respect and treatment offered to animals and also by the fact that Singapore Zoo gathers the largest colony of orangutans worldwide.
Fulfilling all the public’s needs , the zoo offers a large range of movement such as boats , trams , pony rides ,horse carriages , strollers or even wheelchairs can be rented.
