Amitabh Harivansh Bachchan was born in 1942 and he became famous in 1970 when he started acting in several Indian films. Nowadays he has an impressive career spanning four decades and a record of 180 films. He was considered a “one man industry” because he dominated the movie scene in the 1970s and even in the 1980s.
Amitabh Bachchan has won a lot of awards in his career but some of the most important ones are:

He is not only an excellent actor but also a talented playback singer, a television presenter and even a film producer. Amitabh Bachchan also tried his luck in politics in the 1980s being honored with the Padma Shri in 1984 by the Government of India for his major contributions towards the arts.
In 2013 he made his Hollywood debut with an excellent role for The Great Gatsby: Meyer Wolfsheim, a non Indian Jewish character that managed to charm everybody. He received only positive reviews for his role and he confessed that he has no intention in stopping the collaboration with Hollywood producers. Amitabh Bachchan is definitely a unique actor that has managed to impress generations of young people with his talent and charisma.
