Kamui Kobayashi was born in Amagasaki, Hyogo, Japan in 1986 and he is the third Japanese racing driver that managed to be on a Formula 1 podium. He is currently driving for Caterham and he has also competed in the GP2 Series, the GP2 Asia Series, the FIA World Endurance Championship and of course Formula one since 2009.
Kamui Kobayashi began his career in 1996 at the age of 9 when he finished third in his first season of carting that was the Takarazuka Tournament Cadet Class. The next seven years were a success for him, because he managed to win 4 carting titles and he even won the Toyota SL All Japan Tournament Cadet Class series twice. In 2013 he received the award for his Outstanding Achievement in Sport at The Asian Awards that took place in London.
This year, on 21 January 2014 Kobayashi confirmed that he is going to return to Formula 1 in the same team: Caterham F1 for the 2014 season. His colleague and partner is going to be the Swedish driver Marcus Ericsson.One thing is for sure, we have great expectations from this Formula one driver and we can’t wait to see how his career will evolve.
