With the occasion of the 10th Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge 2014 that will take place on 17 April, this year, Officine Panerai has created an amazing and impressive watch, the Luminor 1950 Regatta 3 Days Chrono Flyback Titanio that is now part of its Contemporary Collection.
Its design is a classic one, thanks to its black dial of titanium, but also thanks to the large hour markers and figures. The watch is an automatic mechanical one and it has three-day power reserve. It also has a tachymeter scale in knots that is able to calculate the speed of the yacht. Of course, it is water resistant to 10 bar (100 meters).
This watch is even more impressive thanks to the Regatta countdown function that was created especially for yacht racing starts. All you have to do is to push back the orange chronograph minute hand and it is going to mark the length of the countdown. After that it is going to show you the minutes and seconds remaining until the race is going to start.
When the countdown finishes, the watch is going to show you the elapsed race time. The watch receives power from a new P.9001/R automatic chronograph caliber that can be seen through the sapphire crystal window that can be found on the back of the watch.
