Shang Xia – A new Concept in Luxury
Shang Xia opens a new vision and trend which might be applied in the future of luxury brands. Creating a subdivision of the widely known Luxury French brand, Hermes is more than anyone could ever think of.
Basically Shang Xia is the same Hermes brand but launched in China under a more Chinese name to increase probably even more the popularity. There is no longer a secret that luxury products suffer a continuous expansion not only in China but in the entire Asia. It is a bald concept but surely well established through marketing campaigns and developed strategies. Shang Xia brings a new standard of high quality products which is not common for Chinese brands in general. On the other hand, China is widely known for the amazing craftsmanship which is mainly the result of hard work and patience. CEO of Shang Xia has been appointed Jiang Qionger who is also the artistic director.
Having a strong connection and experience in the industry, Jiang is a strong business woman with a fabulous vision. One of her strategies is not to focus on the profits in the first years but on building the brand. This is a supreme quality of a powerful leader who is able to see progress in the future and always seeks for building a legacy rather than following the income.
Shang Xia was born to represent the Chinese luxury in terms of developing high quality products but not only in terms of fashion. The first Shang Xia store opened in Shanghai on the Huaihai Road in an affluent shopping area and the second one in Beijing. To ensure a complete recognition, Shang Xia has also a fabulous store in Paris, where the original Hermes brand was born. This creates a strong bonding between East and West and gives way to a new luxury niche of products, making China a luxury products competitor on the market. The future will decide if the new concept of Shang Xia is going to be a real boom in the luxury industry or not, but one thing is sure – China is the first to try such an incredible and courageous brand developing strategy.
